Meanderings with Dinos, little people, and 3 little pigs

Hi!
I had a terrible migraine yesterday, and am still feeling pretty punky today, so I thought it was a perfect time to share some cool blogs, some fun YouTubes tunes, and a bit of other stuff I have discovered!

a fun dinosaur mask. Cut out the white areas only of the eyes.
GGGGRRRRRRrrrrrrrr.....

This next artist is doing some absolutely super Little People street art:

There a lot more Little People photos here:

Aren't those just fascinating?
:0)

Garden Stickers from Dover.
Print these out on sticker paper, and have fun making pictures!
How about a nice little scene on an envelope to mail?
Make sure all the edges are smoothed down. If in doubt, use some clear packing tape to cover. Just remember, you can't cover the postage.

Ullam has a charming blog.
I especially like the one with the Russian folk tales illustrator
Ivan Bilibin, 1876 - 1942.
He was also a set and costume designer, and an artist.
I plan on googling to find some more of his artwork.

Sunny is a perfect shape to make more paper doll clothes for!
Why not get out a few old magazines, and make some!

Read 'The Three Little Pigs' lately?
Here is a hilarious version:

Well, I really do have to go now.
I've been watching:
 pirate movies
and robin hood - type movies
and black and white westerns
and old Rome/Sand/Sandals movies.
Great fun.
A few really good ones,
and more really bad ones!!

Butterflies

konnichi wa
(kon-nee-chee-wa)

Japanese for hello, daytime

Today is a good butterfly day.
Recently I have been noticing just a few, drifting around.

monarch butterfly on marigolds

that tells you
it's going to be a butterfly."

- Richard Buckminster Fuller

Court the fluttering butterflies."

Let's have some fun with our colored pencils:

a butterfly mandala

a fun butterfly doodle

Here are two butterflies to cut out and use as masks:

Carefully cut out eye holes.
Use a paper hole punch to punch small holes on either side.
You can see where easily on the first butterfly.
Knot an elastic cord (found in the sewing dept.) and thread through the holes, starting from the top, Left side. End on the top, Right side.
Adjust to fit. Knot cord, and cut off extra.

For extra bling, you can knot your cord, leaving enough cord to string on a few beads. The last bead strung, fill the bead hole with some glue, and thread onto elastic cord. Let dry. This should give you some pretty beaded dangles on each side of the mask.

Here is a lovely beaded butterfly pattern:

"But these are flowers that fly and all but sing:
And how from having ridden out desire
They lie closed over in the wind and cling
Where wheels have freshly sliced the April mire."

- Robert Frost, from "Blue-Butterfly Day"

Let's have some fun iris folding.
If you have forgotten how, or are new to this paper craft,

Next up:
a couple of scherensnitte patterns

the top one has the butterfly, the bottom one a pretty roses pattern

This one can be a wonderful greeting card.
It is from this out of print book:

This next one is more to give you an idea rather than to actually copy it.
It is in traditional Papel Picado style.

and think it is forever."
