Keeping it cool

 Welcome!

Kaleidoscopes by inkspired and KaleidoCam

Is it hot enough for you?

It’s more than that here,

BUT I am very happy I do not live in

Portland, Oregon, USA!

Today they hit 115 degrees Fahrenheit.

Time to find some cool breezes, shade,

and something icy cold in the drink department.

This is a great time to make some

edible flower ice cubes!

You can find several charts on which flowers are edible, which are not, etc. in my blog of July 20, 2020,

Tea Party Basics with Edible Flowers

Just make sure you use flowers with no pesticides

or any other nasty additives/pollutants.

Now that you have cooled off a bit,

are you perhaps forgetting someone else?

🌞🌞🌞

Someone who is in the heat and sun…

in the backyard?

Yep, the one who depends on you

and loves you unconditionally…

Your dog!

Now is the perfect time for you to invest

in a wading pool for a hot pooch.

There are lots of different kinds of pools,

some made specifically for dogs.

Even the cheap kiddie pools work well.

(Think garage sales!)

Ice is great fun,
but never for an overheated dog!
Hot dogs only please!

Dogs do not sweat like humans

and can overheat quickly in high heat.

A cool dip in water rapidly lowers their temperature.

(But not cold water! Just cool.)

The only info I could find on this one is that it is called
‘Bone Pool’. You should be able to easily find it on a site like Amazon.

However,
there are other critters out there looking to beat the heat -

!!!

Keep your cool in the hot summer months.
And
keep your animals cool too!

‘Til next time,
