When it is so hot outside
my thoughts turn to cool water.
Ah!
A paper collage hand cut and created by inkspired
‘Ocean Frolic’
...and then I think of the ocean with its’
soothing waves and the calls of seagulls...

From there it is a natural progression to
daydreaming about mermaids!
through the rhythm of the waves
you can hear
mermaids softly chanting
their sea songs
and quietly whispering
each to each
poems of the deep blue sea

Not feeling ‘cool’ yet?
How about we dress for the part?
Many times if you don’t feel
Pretty
or special,
Fun
or interesting,
Smart
or good enough -
👕👒👞
Dress for the part!
It is amazing what a fresh shirt
or clean hair with a cute hat
can do for your self esteem and
for lifting your spirit into a better place.
So let us dress like mermaids
in cool, soothing blues
and we will chase the heat away!

These watery fashions sure get me in the mood
for a refreshing dip in the ocean...
Isn’t daydreaming fun?
...but I think
Iris Van Herpen
is one of my new-found fave designers!
I have watched video clips of 2 of her past
fashion shows, and
WOW!
She is incredibly creative using kinetic type
movement in her fashion designs.
Check her out on Pinterest or YouTube if you can.

This is one of my favorite mermaids, but I cannot find who the artist is. Do you know? |

Found this on Pinterest. I am guessing it might be a photo from the annual Mermaid Parade on Coney Island, New York, USA. |
What a clever idea for webbed hands!
Still bored?
Can’t find anything fun to do?
What about creating a fanciful
Mermaid top!

And one more -
Well, the new Blogger still has bugs to work out,
and this poor blog has taken me a week or more
to put together. Add in the aggravation and
multiple attempts to post one photo,
a broken air conditioner with temps waving at 100’
for many days, yellow skies due to many fires burning in
Colorado, USA and warnings not to go outside,
asthma, allergies, oh...
the stresses just keep piling on!
So I think I will close,
and go dream of mermaid songs
and
Seashell games
and
the calming sound of waves against the shore.
I do hope that in your day
you take time to relax, and listen to the sounds
all around you.
The world is so full of wonderful things!
‘Til next time,
inkspired
