Welcome!
Kaleidoscope by inkspired
We have had dreary skies, freezing wind and
Cold, cold, cold.
At least for this part of the country!
Today’s kaleidoscopes are bright and cheery
to chase the dark skies away.
I was given a bag of used postage stamps.
Little pieces of art from around the world.
So naturally, having those creative urges I get,
I had to start making something with them.
Cards!
After spending some delightful time sorting
by color and theme
I am ready to make a few cards.
Above are some of the early results.
Here are a few more:

Hmmm, let’s add some dimension with mounting tape.
Mounting tape is a thin foam with sticky tape on both sides.
It’s great for raising up a cut out image just a tad.
In the above card I put mounting tape under the ‘For You’.
Then I layered 2 pieces of mounting tape on top of each other for the center rabbit post stamp to make it really stand out and be a central focus point.
By the way, the sentiment is cut from
a recycled used greeting card.
Recycle Recycle Recycle
On this card I raised the recycled paper butterfly
with mounting tape, and added some pen accents.
After doing some groups like this, I decided I needed more ‘interest’, and came up with some hand woven background papers I had made from leftover projects.

This is also a great way to feature
one particularly beautiful stamp artwork.
Although it is difficult to see, each layered individual post stamp has been mounted with the foam mounting tape.
Next I wanted some more sentiments on the front.
I stamped on scrap paper, tore the edges and then ‘distressed’ them with ink.
Here is the result.
Sometimes I just like to doodle accents, like on this card -
Sometimes I use scrapbook type accents -
The above card also has some washi-type glitter lace tape for additional interest.
Postage stamps are perfect to use in collages.
I also made a few themed holiday cards -

Soooo, you still have 2/3 of a bag of postage stamps left!
What else can we do?
Here are a few ideas I found on Pinterest.

I found all of these on Pinterest,
plus many more ideas too.
My next postage stamp project will be stamp houses, I think!

I hope today has stimulated your creativity,
no matter what form it may take.
