and would love to share with you.

Taking dried leaves, these artists have stitched,

crocheted, drawn, painted, cut and doodled their art.

What to do with these decorated leaves?

*Frame 1, 3 or more and hang in a grouping.
*Tie embroidery thread around the stem 
and hang several in a sunny window.
*Drag out your Christmas tree and decorate it 
with all natural ornaments like these leaves,
pine cones, acorns and nuts, etc.

Let’s take a leaf break,

fire up the printer and print out some Fall

Jumping Jacks!

Use one of your decorated leaves as her body!

If you Google or Pinterest search there are many tutorials out there to show you how to string her together 

to turn her into a jumping jack.

Fun!

Here is a jointed Leaf paper doll for you 

to print, cut and join together.

 I like to use brads, but you can also use jump rings, wire or string.

Learning curves and leaves

Welcome!

Today is a beautiful Autumn day.

We still have snow on the ground, and a chill in the air

However

the sun is shining and we have blue skies

with fluffy white clouds.

Wonderful!

Just a note here - 

As I post photos, poems, quotes, etc.

I will always try to give credit to the originators.

Whenever I teach art classes

I ALWAYS ask my students to sign their creation.

Be proud of your work!

This is a unique piece that only

YOU

could create!

So, I try to pass that forward.

Sometimes however I have days like today.

Life with a Great Dane

I had plans. 

Then I had more plans.

Things fell apart.

Then more things became scrambled.

Might have to go back to bed.

Or throw my computer out the back door.....

A favorite of mine!

Now I do understand everything I am about to say

is incredibly trivial 

when compared to children starving

Innocents being caught in wars

and

the extinction of hundreds of species

Every Year.

My day so far:

My dog does not understand time zones,

turning clocks back or

Melted snow makes mud.

At 3:30 AM he decides he has to go out.

My husband usually lets him out and feeds him at 4:30 AM.

I sleep.

Not today.

At 6:30 AM he decides I should be up. Then he goes back to bed. Have never figured this one out.

I decide to check out a website. But when I look for it I see that yesterday I was going through blog comments and mostly deleting spam from it. I have a couple years of comments to sort!

So I start sorting and see a very good comment on Ukraine.

This is called a bunny trail.

It wanders all around but not to the main issue/goal.

She had a good suggestion and was polite about it.

I searched for the post.

Wrong format.

I try to find it again, etc. until after some time I am on the post

But can’t correct the information.

And so we have our learning curve title.

Dog wants out, he adores eating snow.

Snow is bad for dog. He gets incredible

clear-the-room gas.

Dog goes to far back of yard, and eats snow.

I call dog, he ignores me.

Repeat. 5x. Repeat.

I have to walk 3/4 the way through our mud field we fondly call ‘our backyard’ to encourage him to come in.

Problem.

Did I mention MUD!!!

The next 35 minutes include:

8 bath towels

1 pair socks

1 pair tennis shoes

3 washcloths

1 bath mat

And

5 Milkbone treats

And last, but not least

probably a gallon of wet, sticky mud spread across a 4 room area.

I am exhausted. It’s not even noon yet, and I still have to clean up 2 rooms of mud in various stages of clumpiness and moisture.

I love Fall.

I love the warm colors it gives us

after a sunny and bright summer.

I hope today finds you healthy, happy and safe.

I have friends that do not have all three of those things 

very frequently.

I am thinking of you today

from my heart.

Recently I have been making Christmas presents.

Don’t yell at me,

because I mentioned Christmas, in November!

Thanksgiving is an important holiday in our home,

BUT

if I plan on making presents to give in December

I need to start around July!

I would love to share some with you,

However I don’t want to spoil 

the gift surprise.

Dilemma!

Let me share a recent card I made using used postage stamps.

You can easily duplicate this with items you have already.

Greeting card made with used postage stamps by inkspired

Gather your materials first:

*used postage stamps cut to size you want.

(I usually try to cut just outside the perforations)

*scissors, glue or tape

*cardstock for card base

*cardstock scraps complimentary color

*saying

(Could be a cut out, sticker, die cut, stamped image -

Whatever you like)

Glue postage to scraps of cardstock.

Trim edges. Decorative scissors can be fun to use.

🧡

Arrange your layout BEFORE gluing.

Glue/tape squares in place.

🧡

Use a piece of double stick foam mounting tape

To stick one or more in place if desired.

This gives dimension and interest to your card.

Add sayings both inside/outside as you please.

VOILA!

You have a great handmade card to give to someone dear.

Repeat as desired!

Now you can start asking friends to save their used 

postage stamps for you.

Each stamp is like a miniature piece of art.

we look forward to the aspen trees changing color.

They provide us with colorful splashes of yellow,

gold and some flames of russet.

I use all recycled junk mail and upcycled magazines to create my  one-of-a-kind paper collages.
