“On the ninth day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
Nine ladies dancing.”
Nine ladies,
Dancing -
Did they have partners?
Did they dance alone,
Or were they in a group dance?
Were they traditional flamenco dancers?
Or did they dance in a row?
Did they kick their heels up high?
Or did they dance with no shoes?

And why 9?
Would 4 have been just as good?
What kind of dance were they known for?
Did they need a Maypole?
Over
Anything goes?
These 9 ladies dancing have been making me crazy!
And…
You know athletes always eat more!
So what kind of gift was this?
A large group of women who need
- special shoes
- laundry services
- food, and lots of it
- special clothes
- a place to sleep
- and don’t even get me started on the musical groups they want to accompany them!
and have a place to stay
But I put my foot down on providing uniforms for them!
They can just bring their own.
What with the birds cawing, geese hissing, that rooster announcing every time a hen lays an egg and the constant mooing and bucket kicking…
Til next time
